L1.5 : How to Connect
How to Connect
To connect to the L1.5 server, there are several steps you must take first to install the client correctly. Please make sure you read and follow ALL of these instructions carefully. Skipping a step or making a mistake will almost always cause your installation to fail.

IMPORTANT NOTE BEFORE STARTING:

Some programs are known to crash the Lineage client. Google Chrome is one of these. If you are having problems with the client crashing at startup, try closing all other browsers and non-vital programs.

1. Un-install and delete ALL previous versions of Lineage from your computer.
This is to ensure that no existing files can corrupt your installation of L1.5

2. Download and install Lineage from the links below. It is recommended that you save this file somewhere on your computer in case you need to do a re-install in the future.
IMPORTANT STEP, READ CAREFULLY: At the end of installation, you will get a pop-up with a check-box asking if you would like to run Lineage. UNCHECK THIS BOX, AND CLOSE THE WINDOW. Failure to do so will result in the client downloading the live server files, which will ruin your installation and not allow you to connect to the L1.5 server, forcing you to start over.

If you use Mac OS X, skip to step 6.

3. For Windows:
Go to the folder you installed Lineage to. Find the file lineage.exe and place a shortcut to it on your desktop. Right-click the shortcut and click Properties. At the end of the Target line add a space, then enter the numbers 69.175.26.10 and click OK. Your target line will now look something like this, depending on what folder you installed to:

4. 64 Bit Windows
If you use Windows 7, Windows Vista, or Windows XP 64 Bit, you will need to follow an extra step here. Download the following zip file, un-pack it, and place ALL the contents into your Lineage folder. If you have problems extracting the file, try it with WinRar (www.rarlabs.com). If you get a 3e5 error, it is because of this step. Make sure you follow it properly.

5. Clock and Language
Set the date on your Windows clock to before November 2010. This is required due to the expiration check that the client does. Also, make sure that the language that Windows is installed in is English. The server will not work with any other language. These controls can be found in the Windows Control Panel under ìClock, Language, and Regionî. If you get a Runtime Expired error, it's because of this step.

6. For OS X:

You should be able to connect to the server after this. If you can't, make sure that you have followed ALL of the previous instructions correctly. See the FAQs page for common connection errors and how to fix them.
